can perform Website Auditing / Website Evaluation for your website.
Website Auditing Process: Website audits are conducted in a very specific manner.
A 'scorecard' is used to assess 10 different aspects of each site. The
10 aspects are:
- Purpose (Overall Strategy)
- Functionality
- Download Time
- Ease of Navigation
- Usefulness of Content (Information Process)
- Overall Graphic Presentation
- Ease of Contact and Responsiveness
- Online Catalogue
- Secure Payment Processing
- Effectiveness of Marketing
(Search Engine Positioning)
As an example, in assessing the score to be awarded in the category
'Purpose', the auditor is directed to consider:
"Specific mission or website goals; message and its expression; usefulness
and quality of content; free resources; reason to return".
A score is then be awarded according to the following:
Award score '1' if:
No clear purpose and message, low quality content, no strong reason
to return
Award score '2' if:
Fairly clear purpose and message, fairly useful and medium quality content,
fairly strong reason to return
Award score '3' if:
Very clear purpose and message, useful and high quality content, very
strong reason to return
Having selected a score, the auditor amends and add to the corresponding
comment as necessary, including recommendations if appropriate. Similar
information is provided for each category.
The same process is followed for each of the 10 categories, for each
site.
Once the evaluation of a site is complete, a report then be compiled
incorporating the scores awarded to the site for each of the 10 categories,
along with the (amended) comments for each. Another 'general comment'
also get added. These reports are sent to clients as Word documents.
