Adobe Flex is most popular and highly productive, free, open source framework for building expressive web applications that deploy consistently across browsers, desktops, and operating systems by leveraging the Adobe Flash Player and Adobe AIR runtimes.

Adobe AIR is a cross-operating system runtime which is used for deploying Rich Internet applications to the desktop. Adobe AIR is generally used for providing offline capabilities to the internet applications as Adobe AIR supports native desktop integration, including clipboard and drag-and-drop support, local file IO, system notification.

e-Zest recommend use of Flex architecture framework such as Cairngorm3, Mate, PureMVC and Swiz for development of Adobe Flex & AIR based applications. e-Zest have successfully used WebORB runtime environment for connecting Flex based applications with PHP, .NET, Java & RoR based back-end layers.
